I haven’t been able to write lately but mainly because it was Easter. So I’ll talk about the traditional aspect of Easter in Cuba.

Cuba is mainly a Catholic country where people have about the same traditions that most countries have. Although ever since the 1960’s public have been banned. Not until recently people have been able to celebrate their religion openly. People gather around 7pm in Via Crucis for good Friday. This has been going on for the past 3 years after a ban of 40 years.

Cuba is not only a Catholic based country but it also has other religions such as Jews. This is a very small community though. Even I didn’t about it until recently when an incident with an American citicizen trying to give away laptops to this community was arrested.

Religion is very diverse in Cuba but there are many others that catch attention and have been celebrated for years.
